About Us

The China Super Satellite Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM CSSC) is an offshore external mode program jointly built by the UPM and the Pingtan Experimental Zone Management Committee of Fujian Provincial Government, and operated by UPM SBE and XMUPT. As the Master's and Doctoral Research Service Centre, Undergraduate Bridging Course Learning Centre, Research Achievement Industry Incubation Centre, Alumni Service Centre of UPM in China, UPM CSSC aims to promote the research of China-Malaysia higher education of the Belt and Road and meet the needs of student exchanges, teacher exchanges, and scientific research projects collaborations between the two countries.

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the prime minister's official residence in Putrajaya on April 16, 2025. The top leaders of the two countries jointly issued a joint statement on building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future. The two sides agreed to “comprehensively enhance bilateral education cooperation, strengthen cooperation on vocational education, joint scientific research and digital education, support the co-establishment of Belt and Road joint laboratories by universities from the two countries, support interactions between think tanks and higher educational institutions to promote mutual visits among academic staff and students, encourage two-way student exchange”. As the first program implemented simultaneously by UPM in China and Malaysia, UPM CSSC will continuously enhance mutual learning, and become a model for higher education collaboration between the two countries.
